Venue

The program is held in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.

The Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) campus is located in a beautiful Southwest high desert setting with mountain views. The housing and campus setup is designed to balance community and rest: participants are welcome to gather in common areas and everyone has their own private room and personal space. The setting is designed to have a retreat-like feel that supports participants in pushing their ideas, research, and conversations further. Modern conference facilities include multiple meeting rooms for collaborative work, large seminar spaces, and informal nooks. The campus itself offers open outdoor areas, walking paths, and beautiful art throughout.

Housing

All CSSS participants are accommodated in student dormitories at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Each participant is provided with their own private room and a private bathroom (en suite). Overnight guests are not allowed.

Transportation

Friday programming will take place at the Santa Fe Institute. Group transportation between IAIA and SFI is coordinated by the program. The CSSS cohort is provided with shuttle transport between IAIA and the Santa Fe Institute campuses for program activities.

Students who choose to drive to Santa Fe instead of flying or who choose to rent a car during the duration of the program are provided with free parking on the IAIA campus.

Meals and Dietary Needs

Meals are provided by Bon Appétit at IAIA with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions when possible. Accepted participants can provide this information when they register for the program.

Extending Your Stay

You are welcome to arrive early or stay late in order to coordinate a vacation with your participation in the program. However, we are unable to offer accommodations in participant housing outside of the dates of the program, and thus accommodations for extended stays (likewise, meals, transportation, etc.) are your responsibility. Guests are not permitted to stay overnight at our program venues.
