Our campus is closed to the public for this event.

Meeting Description:  To bring insights from complexity science to bear on the recognition, identification and evaluation of new ideas, researchers, and research programs. To discuss the subsequent measurement of their adoption and influence. To discuss the feasibility of the creation of a new ASU-SFI software “platform” to promote more informed scholarly judgments and inhibit the collapse of judgment onto impact metrics (e.g. the use of Google Scholar as a hiring and funding tool). This meeting is of particular interest to complexity science and inter-disciplinary science more broadly, where traditional disciplinary criteria risk missing the novel contributions of a research program.

Purpose:
Research Collaboration
SFI Host:
David Krakauer and Manfred Laubichler
