Abstract. This working group has a specific applied aim: to discuss and prepare a joint project of the University of New Mexico Prevention Research Center with researchers from the Santa Fe Institute, Harvard University, University of Southern California, and Microsoft Research. The aim of the project is to design, implement, and evaluate a social network intervention to encourage parents in disadvantaged areas of New Mexico to promote healthy nutrition and physical activity in their children.
