The New Age of Intelligent Machines.

W. Brian Arthur

Robots and intelligent processes are suddenly everywhere in the economy, boosting output greatly but causing jobs to disappear, possibly never to come back. Where is the economy going, what should we think about this, and how will it affect our lives and our children's?

W. Brian Arthur is a leading economist and complexity thinker. He is best known for his pioneering work on positive feedbacks or increasing returns in the economy and their role in locking markets in to the domination of a single player. He is currently External Professor at SFI, where he has held scientific and leadership positions for decades. Arthur holds degrees in operations research, economics, mathematics, and electrical engineering.

Hosted by Mariia Eroshin, CFA, CFP SVP, Private Client Advisor, U.S. Trust
