In a column in Green Money, SFI Trustee Katherine Collins asks "What would nature do?" and explores how that question can inform decisions about investing.

"I came to biomimicry along a winding path, beginning at a low point in my career," Collins writes. "I was struggling through a tough performance patch, as all investors eventually do, when luckily I was introduced to the work of Dr. Tom Seeley of Cornell through a meeting at the Santa Fe Institute. Dr. Seeley’s work investigates how bees make collective decisions that are consistently terrific."

Collins is author of The Nature of Investing and CEO and founder of Honeybee Capital.
