Adventures and Advances in the Theory and Practice of Deliberative Democracy

This talk will review basic and applied research projects on deliberative democracy.  Included are research on the meaning of deliberation itself at different levels of analysis, the civic impact of participating in jury deliberation, and a new form of deliberative citizen panels to be implemented by the State of Oregon in the November 2010 election.
