Program Postdoctoral Fellow
The goal of obtaining a completely deterministic description of Nature has been proved to be unreachable in the XX century. Especially in complex systems where, often, random fluctuations are not only important but fundamental in their definition, the only possible way to understand and predict them is a probabilistic one.
Alessio will be working with Sidney Redner where his work will focus on obtaining general common laws governing complex systems on the basis of the theory of stochastic processes and statistical mechanics. He will apply these methods to understand sports, economics inspired models, and the many-body physics problem.
After his theoretical physics studies in Padua (Italy) and Stockholm (Sweden), Alessio obtained his doctorate in mathematical physics in Göettingen (Germany).
