Abstract.  This work explores experimentally the role of asymmetric outcomes in cooperation dilemmas. Subjects face three different payoff games were modified the difference between the two top and the two bottom payoffs, known as the greed and fear dimensions respectively. Results show that individuals cooperate less when the fear dimension is considerably augmented that when greed is increased. These findings are consistent under random and fixed matching. Another finding is that the order in which dilemmas are faced matter: The drop in cooperation when the less unequal game is played first is smaller than the raise in cooperation when players face initially the most unequal games.
