Reflections on How Economic Reasoning Can Contribute to the Study of Science

In this paper, I discuss a set of issues in the philosophy and sociology of science literatures which economic-style reasoning may help elucidate. My discussion is based upon a particular perspective, one which lies at the core of modern economic theory. And, for wont of a better term may be referred to as the choice-theoretic approach to socioeconomic modeling.
